Crisp Cool Days

Aaaaaahhhhhhh...Autumn is upon us. This is truly my favorite time of year. You can play outside without being attacked by a kazillion bugs. Or passing out from heatstroke. And everyone gets nice rosy nip of color on their cheeks and nose. The garden is done for the season and is slowly withering. I can take stock of what worked and what didn't (I can take all of the winter season to figure out the new plan for the planting season in Spring)

The trees are beginning to have their leaves changing colors from the bright crisp green to blazing golds, reds, purples and browns.

The air once perfumed by lingering smell of florals have been replaced with the rich, earthy smells of burning leaves and  wood.

The aromas of grilling out have been replaced with thick bubbling soup and warm crusty beads.

Pretty soon there will be a slew of fall festivals. I don't know about you but I am so ready for this season!

Be thankful

Another year is nearly over and I cannot believe next week is Thanksgiving!  I must admit this is really my favorite time of year. Nature has painted the landscape with gorgeous earth toned colors of orange, brown, yellow, red and purple. We are  tantalized with the spicy smells of cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.  The air is crisp and cool. And there's nothing like cozying up on the sofa, after a long day, with nice hot cup of chai tea.

I know many preparations are under way to accommodate family and friends for Thanksgiving Day. Make your  home inviting and cheerful throughout.

Welcome your friends and family with with a nice arrangement of bittersweet and gourds.

I hope  that everyone takes a moment from their hurry scurry lives, to be thankful, to enjoy the time you have with friends and family, to savor every moment and to enjoy the beauty all around us.
