When good neighbors...aren't

WARNING!! Rant follows--includes obscenities. If you are easily offended, do not read! Close this post or click this link to look at cute baby animals!

You were warned!

Hey  y'all...there was a wee-bit-o-drama around the old homestead tonight. Apparently one of my neighbors got wind of a rant on my personal FB page about her horse-puppy running amok. Here is a copy of my rant...

Well... late tonight the neighbor came over pounding on my door, telling me if I had something to say I should have said it to their face and not put it on FB, because the "whole damn town" was talking about it. Which is HILARIOUS because I know exactly 6 people in this town, and when I say know, it is enough to know their name and wave hi--maybe

Oh, the whole encounter was ugly--lots of obscenities from both of us (my favorite is the f-bomb), there were quite bit of bitches brandied about and the all time worst--the C word. The ABSOLUTE best part, is when I was told I was an angry old bitch and I should move! HAHAHAHA  This cracked me up. I have been in my house 15 years---and I SHOULD just move?!  wow.

Boo-Freaking-Hoo!

Now granted, should I have gone on a rant? No, probably not. Or at least filtered who could read it!  Notice, however, I didn't mention names. I could have...but didn't. Admittedly, I was super, duper angry. I told the hubbs when he got home  Friday night, we needed to talk to them but I wanted to calm down first. That didn't exactly work out. The truth is I didn't post anything that  I would not have addressed.

I was also informed "They" have put up with my shitty ass dogs more times than they can count. The few times my dogs were out of control, we corrected it--AND apologized. See--there is that whole courtesy thing. I think the reason I was so mad, is both the hubbs and I have taken a fall because of giant horse puppy. If their dog gets hurt I will feel bad, but it is in my yard while my one dog is tethered. If my dogs get hurt I am gonna be pissed. If me or the hubbs get hurt because of it--I am gonna go nuclear!

I have made quite a few posts lately about being desperate for a fence. And from this encounter tonight, I learned a couple of things--I apparently, have people on my personal FB page trolling me and I have a bitchy reputation.

To which I respond
..and it it is better than the "flipping the bird image" I had originally chosen!

Needless to say 1) I am cleaning up my FB friends list because some people  don't have a life and blabbed 2) I WILL find a way to have a fence installed and 3) I think more than just the town will know about this issue. SO...should I go bang on their door and tell them I blogged about this? Bwahahahaha!

Yes, yes-- I realize I am being an immature asshole. Refer back to the video!

Thanks y'all for letting me rant!

Winter blahs

I have the winter blahs...or maybe the I just turned 46 and am unemployed blahs...

I don't have a good reason to be depressed--I just am. I am fortunate in many ways--we have a little savings, a cozy little house, the hubbs has job security, we don't know hunger and mostly are in good health...Am I just whining and feeling sorry for myself?

I am still getting up to go to school but that is about it. No socializing, my house is a wreck, and I have no motivation.  All I want to do is sleep. In the last month I have found myself close to tears for absolutely no good reason, especially since I am not a crying kind of gal...

I need to make repairs from the destructive puppy--eating my office chair, my curtains, chewing the corner of my step and peeling slivers of wood from the floor--not kidding! And no he was not harmed after doing all this--good thing he is so cute. And btw--he ate my Kohl's credit card so I couldn't even do therapy shopping!

I need to go buy the supplies for the dining room flooring update--plywood, adhesive and linoleum. I am worried if I spend the money these items will just sit in garage with all the other unfinished projects.

You see it isn't just me. The hubbs is worn out as well. Maybe we need a nice vacation. Someplace not cold, gray and dreary. We talk about it...ALOT... but then like so many other things in life it languishes and is quietly pushed to the recesses of our minds.

We are practical people. We think about who will take care of the animals, how all that money could be spent on the house or stay in safely in savings and let the spark of spontaneity wither.

It is a vicious  cycle of broken  dreams, high hopes, and  indecision.

Is it just me? Is it the events of the past year finally catching up with me--the loss of my job--my identity and and my father dying-perhaps? Is it SAD-Seasonal Affective Disorder? Is it something worse?

Typically I pick myself up by my bootstraps, give myself a stern talking to and soldier on. I am embarrassed for writing this and and have thought more times than I can count about deleting the post. But maybe the first step is to say it out loud and ask for help. Or at the very least acknowledge things aren't normal...

Are any of my bloggy friends out in bloggyland sad? Overwhelmed? Lonely? Struggling?  Because if you are--I know what you are going through. Maybe we can get though it together.

Thanks for letting me vent spill my guts.

Gaaaahhh!! He threw away my stuff!

OMG! Mr. CozyLittleFarmhouse cleaned the garage and in the process threw away some of my stuff.

Stuff I talked about here.

Important stuff. Like a vintage headboard, foot board  and side rails. 2 wood shelves. And I don't know what else is missing  because he MOVED everything !

I knew he had cleaned it out to make room to do some work. I noticed my stuff was "missing" when I went in the garage last night. At first I thought everything had just been re-arranged-- it was dark so I went back out today to look around and it is gone. All of it. I tried not to panic because he was at work all day. I thought perhaps he moved stuff up to the attic where I couldn't get to it. So I had to wait until he came home. And then I pounced on him.

Me: "Where's my stuff?!"
Hubbs: "What stuff?"
Me: "Headboard, foot board, side rails, shelves..."
Hubbs (getting a panicked look on his face): "Um, I threw it away when I cleaned the garage"
Me:"WHAT????!!!!"
Hubbs: "Ummm, some of it was cracked. I didn't think it was any good"
Me: "OMG! I can't believe you did this! Did it not occur to you to ASK me?"
Hubbs: "You weren't here"
Me: "So you wait for me to leave and throw away all my stuff?"
Hubbs: "No! Sorry?"
Me: "ARRRGGGGGGGGGHH!!!!@#$%^*@#$%^"

So yeah, very , Very, VERY upset! And we can't retrieve any of it because it was in the compactor dumpster at his work. My projects are taking a deep sleep in a landfill somewhere.

I told him to never EVER touch any of my @#$%!*$ stuff again without talking to me!

I know it didn't look like much to him but it looked like treasure to me.

He said I am over reacting. HA! How would he feel if I had done that to him?

Not such a My Cozy Little Farmhouse type day.

Garden Math

source
You would think as a former Chemist I would know a thing or two about math. Which for some forms of math I do. I am pretty handy in the kitchen with conversions. Cooking is Chemistry simplified.Unless it is fancy cooking. I am REALLY good with sales and coupons. Percentages and subtraction no problem. And I am really good with Geometry, especially after thrifting and trying to figure out how to pack my car with all my stuff!  However, I feel the educational system has failed to adequately teach Garden Math.

What is Garden Math?  Well it's kinda  complicated .
It involves the basic math principles like-
Addition (because there is always room for 1 more plant), Subtraction (for those you don't want/ like or doesn't perform well), Multiplication (Mint!!  'nuff said), and Division (the countless hours dividing bulbs and plants).

But then there are the higher level math principles
Apparently the mathematic principles I need to be schooled in are exponents,  probability theory and inverse statistics. I don't think that is a real math but it should be!.

I should  know the probability of  getting a bumper crop of Zucchini is a constant factor.I should know that the probability of being over run with weeds and bugs increases exponentially as the temperature increases.  And statistically speaking any crop I expect will be a low yield  will be inversely proportional to the pain in the arse it causes me.
